I am a system architect working at the intersection of professional AV and IT — equally at home in network design and signal architecture as in immersive installations and complex media systems.

My background is in the commercial AV market, where from 2014 to 2022 I delivered projects ranging from national cultural institutions to airports, hotels and concert venues. Highlights include deploying a multi-subnet Dante/AoIP network across 55,000 m² at the New National Museum and immersive projection mapping at Bryggens Museum — projects where system architecture, network complexity and creative technology converge.

Through those projects, the IT and networking dimension grew from a supporting role into a core competency. I work across the full stack today — from physical layer with fibre and structured cabling, through layer 2/3 network design with VLANs and routing, to AV-over-IP protocols including Dante, NDI and SRT. An ever-growing share of professional AV runs over IP, and that is precisely where the two disciplines merge.

In recent years this combination has found a natural application in maritime remote operations — a field with striking parallels to broadcast. The vessel functions as an outside broadcast truck: cameras, telemetry and communications are gathered on board, transported ashore over LTE and LEO satellite using the right protocol for the job, and received in a shore-based control room with large video walls — conceptually a Master Control Room. The technical challenge is the same one broadcast engineers have always solved: low latency and high reliability over unpredictable links.
